About The Role:

OCS are recruiting for a Cleaner to assist the Reach Calibration team in maintaining and cleaning the presses as part of a periodical process to keep them functioning and clean for newspaper production. Also – undertaking scheduled general cleaning duties as and when required.The person will mainly do cleaning duties, day shifts between Monday and Friday, but will also be needed to cover holidays on night, which will include working weekends (roughly 13 weeks per year)

Key responsibilities:

• Clean Press Hall Production Areas: Ensure all production areas within the press hall are thoroughly cleaned.
• Weekly Cleaning Schedule: Clean all printing towers, reel stands, and auxiliary equipment according to the weekly press hall cleaning schedule.
• Spirit Room Maintenance: Clean and maintain the spirit room facilities.
• Waste Management: Empty press hall bins and monitor stock levels of wipers.
• Recycling Compliance: Adhere to the site’s recycling policy.
• General Cleaning Duties: Perform general cleaning tasks as scheduled and required
  

Essential Criteria:

• Experience in cleaning tasks within a production environment would be an advantage.
• Good communication skills.
• Right to work in the UK
• Ability to work safely with basic health and safety competencies.
• A flexible approach and willingness to work in different areas within the building.
• Team working skills and an ability to integrate with fellow OCS and client employees.
