Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN is seeking a Night Shift Press Brake Operator in Hanover, MD to form sheet metal components according to drawings and work orders. This Temp-to-Perm role offers a pay rate of $22-26/hr and a Mon-Fri schedule from 5:30pm to 3:30am, with first-day training 8am-5pm.

You will read blueprints, set up CNC press brakes, select tooling, and perform first-piece inspections, using calipers, tape measures, and gauges to verify dimensions and quality. OT is possible on occasion.

TITLE: Press Brake Operator (Night)

TEMP/TEMP-PERM/DH: Temp to Perm

PAY RATE: $22-26/hr

START DATE: ASAP

SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri 5:30pm-3:30am

Training Schedule: 1st Day 8am-5pm, 1st 2 to 3 weeks 7am-5pm

OT REQUIRED? Yes, on occasion

LUNCH BREAK DETAILS: 45 minutes unpaid (12pm-12:45pm)

DRESS CODE: warehouse casual, safety shoes (steel toe or composite) Safety glasses/gloves (provided)

WHAT ARE THE TOP 3 TECHNICAL (HARD) SKILLS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE?

  1. Ability to read blueprints, work orders, bend drawings, and schematics
  2. Ability to operate and setup press brake machinery
  3. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency using precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges

DAY TO DAY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Set up and operate CNC press brakes to form sheet metal components according to engineering drawings, work orders, and production requirements.
  2. Select and install appropriate tooling, including punches and dies, and perform machine setup, programming, and bend sequence verification.
  3. Read and interpret blueprints, bend drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate part production.
  4. Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks to verify bend angles, dimensions, hole locations, and cosmetic quality.
  5. Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, tape measures, squares, protractors, and gauges, to ensure compliance with specifications.
  6. Identify and report nonconforming parts, stopping production when quality standards are not met and assisting with corrective actions.
  7. Maintain machine cleanliness, tooling condition, and accurate production records while adhering to all safety and quality requirements.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS (I.e. education/years' experience/software/industry or position experience):
  1. Experience setting up and operating CNC and/or manual press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components.
  2. Ability to perform quality inspections and verify parts meet dimensional and workmanship standards.
  3. Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and the ability to work safely around fabrication equipment and material handling devices.
  4. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented production environment.
  5. High School Diploma or GED.
  6. 1-3 years of press brake, metal fabrication, or sheet metal manufacturing experience preferred.
  7. Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work overtime as needed.
