Job summary

GD Roberts & Co Inc is seeking skilled Press Brake Operators to join our fabrication team on 1st and 2nd shift in Wisconsin. You will work with CNC press brakes and automated panel bending technology to produce precision sheet metal components for our products.

You'll interpret blueprints, select tooling, develop programs, and perform inspections to ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient work area.

Qualifications

• Experience operating press brakes or similar manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, inspection sheets, and process documentation.
• Knowledge of bending principles, tolerances, and material characteristics.
• Basic math, measurement tools, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support CNC press brakes and automated panel bending equipment to produce precision sheet metal components.
• Select and install punches, dies, and tooling based on production requirements.
• Interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Create, modify, and optimize machine programs to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring equipment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, calipers, and other inspection tools.
• Move materials and finished parts safely using forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other handling equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvements.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area following procedures and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with team members across fabrication, welding, and assembly operations to meet production goals.

We're looking for skilled Press Brake Operators to join our fabrication team on 1st and 2nd shift. In this role, you'll work with both CNC press brakes and advanced automated panel bending technology to produce precision sheet metal components used in high-quality manufactured products. What You'll Do

Requirements

Required

• Experience operating or setting up press brakes or similar manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication processes, and material characteristics.
• Understanding of bending and forming principles.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, inspection sheets, and process documentation.
• Basic math, computer, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and layout tools.
• Understanding of machine guarding, pinch points, lockout/tagout principles, and safe operating practices.

Preferred

• Experience creating or editing CNC brake press programs.
• Experience with complex setups and multi-stage forming operations.
• Forklift, crane, and hoist operation experience.
• Manufacturing or fabrication experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
