Brake Operator

The Brake Operator is responsible for operating press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal according to precise specifications. The role involves setting up machines, adjusting tools, and ensuring the final product meets quality standards. The operator must also adhere to safety protocols and maintain an organized and clean work area.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup & Operation:

Operate press brake machines to bend, form, or straighten sheet metal and other materials.

Read and interpret technical drawings to determine specifications.

Set up machines by installing the appropriate tools and dies

Adjust machine settings such as bending angles, pressure, and dimensions according to job specifications/tolerances.

Production:

Perform precise bending and shaping of materials while maintaining strict quality control standards.

Measure and inspect workpieces to ensure conformity using measuring tools like calipers, protractors, and micrometers.

Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to achieve desired results.

Quality Control:

Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet dimensional and quality requirements.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, such as lubricating parts and replacing worn tools.

Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues with the machine to prevent downtime.

Documentation & Reporting:

Accurately document bending program information
