What is the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Press Brake Operator/Fabricator to produce components for an industrial bakery equipment manufacturer. Under the general supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the CNC Press Brake Operator-Fabricator will be responsible for programming, operating, and performing basic preventative maintenance on CNC press brakes. The role also involves general fabrication duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Program, operate, and perform routine maintenance on the Trumpf CNC Press Brake, with precision sheet metal forming of materials from 0.050” to 0.375” thick.
  • Plan and organize work activities to efficiently complete tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and layouts.
  • Adjust dimensions on products to meet application demands under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve discrepancies and suggest improvements.
  • Familiarity with standard drill and tap sizes; experience with tapping arms is a plus.
  • Learn or use hydraulic sheet metal rollers for cylindrical and conical shapes.
  • Use angle grinders, hand drills, magnetic drills, and small drill presses for fabrication tasks.
  • Operate shears and iron workers.
  • Work with stainless steel, aluminum, and low carbon steel.
  • Handle materials, unload trucks, and organize product placement.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and the plant.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices.
  • Prepare and operate HVLP paint systems (less than 20% of time).
  • Use horizontal and vertical band saws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to safety policies.

What You Bring:

  • At least 3 years of experience programming and operating press brakes.
  • At least 3 years in a general fabrication role.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and tolerances.
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds frequently, up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of fiber laser cutting machinery.
  • Welding skills or familiarity with welding processes.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Experience in low volume/high mix manufacturing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
