Role Description

The Press Brake Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Skokie, IL. The individual in this role will set up, operate, and adjust press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components according to production specifications and blueprints. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, performing test runs, and verifying part dimensions to meet quality standards. The Press Brake Operator will inspect finished parts, identify and resolve basic machine or process issues, and maintain a clean and safe work area. This role also involves working closely with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules, support continuous improvement, and ensure consistent, accurate output.


Qualifications


  • Ability to operate and set up press brakes and related equipment; strong Machine Operation skills.

  • Experience performing inspections, measuring parts, and maintaining standards; skills in Quality Control.

  • Background in Printing or related finishing processes is beneficial for working with labeled or marked components.

  • Skills in Troubleshooting to identify, diagnose, and correct issues with machines, tooling, or formed parts.

  • Knowledge of Pre-press or preparation workflows is helpful for coordinating production steps and documentation.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

  • Basic math skills and familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in metal fabrication is a plus.
