Job Description: Brake Operator
Location: Pleasant Hill, MO, 64080
To successfully perform the requirements of this position, it is preferred that someone have one year of related experience, be motivated, and be highly quality-minded. The right candidate will possess good organizational skills and be able to work independently. If you don’t have the skill or experience, don’t worry. If you have a solid work ethic and are motivated, we will train you!
A Brake Operator at ICF Industries operates fabricating machines such as rollers, brakes, or spot welders that shape, bend, or spot weld metal sheets in response to customer requests.
Job duties:
- Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, program, or template.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating sheet metal products.
- Operates fabricating machines such as brakes, presses, or forming rolls, to bend materials.
- Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die.
- Depresses pedal to activate machine.
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
- Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces during production runs when needed.
- Assists lead/setup operator to set up and tear down machines.
- Stacks, identifies, and packages, finished work pieces to designated area.
- Rivets and spot welds work pieces.
- Keeps accurate counts of finished goods and scrap.
- Keeps work area clean and free of clutter.
Skills/Requirements:
- Can Work 330pm-2am, M-Th
- Experience working with industrial machines
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, vendors, and other employees of the company.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
