Job summary

RC Industries is seeking a Press Brake Operator to set up, program and safely operate the Press Brake to form parts per print. You will follow sequence lists to ensure on-time delivery and perform in-process inspections to uphold quality standards.

Responsibilities include programming new parts, updating existing parts for efficiency, reporting defects, and maintaining 5S practices. Requires 2+ years of related tool experience and proficiency in basic math and measurement.

  • 2+ years’ experience using small to mid-sized tools and computing measurements.

Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:To set up, program and safely operate the Press Brakes to form parts to print.Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the RoleMaintaining High Quality and Efficiency (90% of the job)Set up, program and safely operate the Press Brake to form parts to print in a timely fashion to meet schedule goals set by RCUse sequence list to ensure items are moving according to schedules and on-time delivery measures are met as set by Shop Floor Mobile.Uphold RC Industries quality model by conducting all in-process checks as well as report any defects to your Front-Line LeaderProgram new parts and update existing parts for better efficiency.Let FLL know of the need for tooling.Ensure 5s assignments are completeTimely labor reporting for jobs completed in Shop Floor Mobile.Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and abide by safety rules at all timesMentoring & Training (5% of the job)Use strengths and skills to mentor and train others in meeting and exceeding delivery dates and customer expectations.Supports leaders and other team areas as needed to meet overall team goals.Participate in incident investigations as needed.Other Areas of Responsibility (5% of the job)Attend safety meetings as needed.Follow RCII’s policies as outlined in the Employee HandbookParticipate in lean manufacturing activities.The job criteria may include other duties, responsibilities and activities, which may change or be assigned at any item with or without notice.Core Values that Apply to All Positions:Dedication to Quality · Lifelong LearnerProvide Relentless Support · Customers are why we existOn-Time Delivery · Lead by exampleEquipment Used:This role routinely uses assembly equipment, various machinery, hand tools, computers, calculators, and other quality control devices.Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:Ability to stand or walk on concrete surfaces seven plus hours per day.Ability to use hands and fingers to operate hand assembly devices, machinery and other equipment or tools in a safe way for seven plus hours per day.Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull and lift up to 50-75 pounds independently to move product on a regular basis.Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull and lift over 75 pounds as part of a team lift or using a lifting device.Ability to review procedures, do basic math and measurement computations as well as visually compare productto quality specificationsEnvironmental Conditions & Travel:The employee is primarily exposed to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments.The manufacturing warehouse has heat; however, temperature fluctuates throughout the day.Various machinery, equipment and forklifts are used in the manufacturing areas. Employees should use extreme caution, follow all safety procedures, and wear all required PPE to ensure safety for themselves andothersPosition Requirements:Education: A high school diploma or GEDExperience: 2 or more years’ experience using small to mid-sized tools and computing measurements; experience in quality a plusCertification(s): n/aFunctional Skills:Basic math and counting skills (skills assessment).Use of measuring tools such as tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.Able to read, understand and follow work instructions.Able to read and understand blueprints.Able to work using small hand tools at a good speed.Able to be flexible and move from job to job as priorities change.Ability to use overhead cranes and lifting devices.Technology Aptitude/Skills: Ability to use computers to review procedures and enter dataLanguage Skills: Able to read/write/speak English fluently and is able to fill out all required forms and paperwork needed for the position; communicates in a positive wayLeadership/Behaviors: Self-directed, highly-motivated, and ability to be a team player; provide mentoring and training to support the team and reach departmental goalsCulture Match Behaviors: Respectful of others, goal and customer-focused; ability to stay focused on quality as well as being efficient to produce a high level of output on the job; embraces RC Industries values,expectations, and ideas
