Caliberr Staffing is seeking a diligent Brake Press Operator to set up and operate press brakes, interpret blueprints, and shape parts to exact specifications. You will configure equipment for varied dimensions, monitor quality, and work from blueprints and job orders with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations and blueprint interpretation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
  • Fluency in English with strong reading/writing skills.
  • Must hold crane and forklift operation certifications; LOTO is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate press brakes and related tools to form parts per blueprints.
  • Configure machines for parts with varying dimensions and tolerances.
  • Verify finished items meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Follow blueprints, verbal instructions, and job orders precisely.
  • Maintain equipment and perform routine lubrication and maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure proper PPE usage.
  • Inspect output for defects and coordinate with team to resolve issues.

Job description

As a Brake Press Operator, you will utilize press brakes and various tools to shape and customize materials according to fabrication blueprints. You will be responsible for interpreting intricate instructions to ensure materials are formed to exact specifications.

Core Duties:

  • Maintain a secure work environment by strictly adhering to all safety protocols and utilizing required PPE.
  • Configure and manage press brakes to process a diverse range of parts with varying dimensions.
  • Verify that finished items align with quality standards and project requirements.
  • Execute tasks by referencing blueprints, verbal guidance, and specific job order details.
  • Monitor equipment performance to identify potential defects or operational issues.
  • Conduct routine upkeep on machinery, including the lubrication of dies, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure all activities remain in full alignment with established QMS policies and internal procedures.
  • Contribute to long-term process efficiency to help achieve superior industry results and high levels of client satisfaction.

Qualifications

Background and Training:

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations.
  • Capability to interpret technical blueprints.
  • Understanding of both standard and metric measurement systems.
  • Competence in self-inspection and quality assurance methods to ensure high-quality output.
  • A self-driven and detail-focused mindset.
  • A collaborative approach to working within a team.
  • Must hold a valid crane operation certification.
  • Must hold a valid forklift operation certification.
  • LOTO certification is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work Saturdays when the production schedule requires it.
  • Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
