Job summary

Randstad USA in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to set up, operate, and form precision sheet metal parts according to engineering specifications.

You will calculate bend deductions, read engineering drawings, perform First Article and in-process inspections, and ensure adherence to ISO/GMP/GDP and quality SOPs. Salary ranges $47,000–$55,000 for First shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM); no degree required.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating press brakes in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
• Math skills with proven ability to calculate bend deductions independently.
• High proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using precision inspection tools.
• High mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up & operate press brakes with correct tooling to achieve exact radii and prevent distortion.
• Perform bend deductions calculations and flat layouts.
• Read blueprints and verify part specs using precision gauges and tools.
• Conduct First Article Inspections and in-process checks during production.
• Adhere to Quality SOPs and ISO standards, GMP and GDP.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to set up, operate, and form precision sheet metal components according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate combines mechanical aptitude and mathematical accuracy with hands‑on expertise in press brake setup, bend calculations, and quality inspection.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Bending: Select optimal bending methods, tooling, and V-die openings based on material type and part thickness to achieve exact radiuses and prevent part distortion.
• Calculations: Perform manual math calculations to determine accurate bend deductions and flat layouts.
• Blueprint Reading & Measurement: Interpret technical engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances; verify part specs using precision measuring gauges and hand tools.
• First Article & In-Process Inspection: Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and continuous sample checks during production runs to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Quality & SOP Compliance: Strictly adhere to Quality System SOPs, work instructions, ISO standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
