Job description

The Republican National Committee is seeking applicants to join our fast-paced and high-impact Press Team. The Press Assistant will support the RNC’s communications efforts by helping execute daily media operations, monitoring news cycles, drafting press materials, and assisting with media inquiries and research. This is a unique opportunity to launch your career in political communications at the national level and contribute to the fight to elect Republicans up and down the ballot.

Responsibilities Include:

• Monitor national and state-level media coverage and provide daily news clips
• Assist in the drafting and editing of press releases, statements, and media advisories
• Track media inquiries and coordinate responses
• Maintain press lists and help manage media contacts
• Support event preparation and on-site press operations
• Conduct research to support messaging and rapid response
• Perform administrative and logistical tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to advancing conservative principles, candidates, and policies
• Proficiency with major social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and YouTube
• Strong research and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for identifying politically relevant developments and emerging narratives
• Deep interest in current events, political trends, and the broader media and policy landscape
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and respond to fast-moving developments with speed and accuracy
• Excellent organizational skills and time management habits
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Prior involvement in a campaign, state or local party organization, or College Republicans chapter
• Background in political communications or research, including experience on Capitol Hill, in journalism, public affairs, law, or a related advocacy or policy environment
