Job summary

Qualifications

• Citizenship required; must be a U.S. citizen.
• Current valid U.S. driver's license required.
• At least 21 years old, under 40 at referral; exceptions apply.
• Must carry and use a firearm; proficiency needed.
• Uncorrected visual acuity no worse than 20/100; corrected 20/20 or better.
• Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in specified ranges.
• Submit to drug tests; pass training at FLETC and other centers.
• Exemption from Selective Service registration if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection for The White House, Vice President's Residence, and other key locations.
• Travel to support presidential and foreign state missions.
• Enforce protective responsibilities under Title 18.
