Job summary

Bowdoin College's President's Office seeks an Events and Special Projects Assistant to design, plan, and staff high-profile events and hospitality for signature events at Parker Cleaveland House and off-campus sites.

You will coordinate with the Office, trustees, and academic departments to ensure flawless execution of time-sensitive events, while supporting broader special projects and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in an administrative or similar role.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication; effective with internal/external stakeholders, including trustees.
  • Strong organizational skills, precise in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and staff the President's recurring calendar of signature events and related meals.
  • Lead hospitality elements for Board of Trustee meetings and related events.
  • Provide logistical and operational support for special meetings, retreats, and campus events.
  • Provide scheduling, invoicing, and general administrative support for special projects.
  • Maintain detailed records and conduct post-event debriefs.
