Job summary

The Robert Sterling Clark Foundation in New York City seeks a dynamic President & CEO to guide strategic direction, grantmaking, and organizational growth, with a focus on trust-based philanthropy and leadership development.

The role requires building relationships with the board, staff, grantees, and partners to advance equity, learning, and impact in New York City and beyond. The successful leader will foster adaptive leadership and accountable governance.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in a nonprofit, foundation, or related organization.
• Commitment to equity and the principles of trust-based philanthropy.
• Experience working with a governing board and translating priorities into goals.
• Strong financial literacy and ability to work with investment, accounting, and legal advisers.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic leadership and board partnership to set the foundation's direction.
• Oversee grantmaking, staff leadership, financial stewardship, and external engagement.
• Represent the foundation to nonprofit leaders, peers, and partners in NYC and nationally.
• Develop and sustain trust-based relationships with grantees and communities served.
