The next CEO will guide Internet2 as it strengthens its position as a premier technology organization that continues to build upon its world-class network infrastructure while developing innovative platform approaches that integrate networking strengths with emerging technologies. Through this evolution, Internet2 will empower the research and education community to collaborate on solutions that no single institution could achieve alone, ensuring that Internet2 remains at the forefront of enabling a transformative research and education environment.
Internet2 seeks a dynamic leader able to engage its many constituencies in fostering the innovation, collaboration, and scientific discovery that have become the cornerstone of the organization and helped to revolutionize the national and international research and learning environment. Reporting to the board of trustees, the president and CEO is entrusted with overall executive responsibility for Internet2 including working with the membership to develop a compelling vision for the future of the organization and then partnering with staff to execute that vision. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership and management experience along with stature in the technology field, a thorough understanding of academic research, and skill as a communicator and relationship and community builder. With the CEO transition occurring in a period of significant change for higher education, research, and technology sectors, the ideal candidate will also be a leader who is able to embrace, thrive, and execute while ensuring community stability.
