Brella in Los Angeles is seeking a Preschool Teacher for 24-month-olds, delivering high-quality early childhood education in a new Brella model. You will partner with co-teachers to create a safe, engaging learning environment and implement Brella’s curriculum with timely modifications.

This center is open Monday-Friday and shifts typically run between 7:45 AM - 6:15 PM.

About the Role

We are looking to hire a Preschool Teacher who works with 24 month old's who is excited about building a new model of child care that responds to families' varying child care needs, while also delivering the highest quality experiences for children. As a Brella Preschool Teacher, You Will

• Provide a safe and loving environment for children in collaboration with co-teachers
• Model empathy through respect, response, and gentle guidance
• Engage as children work with age-appropriate, stimulating, and thoughtful materials
• Plan and implement Brella curriculum and develop daily modifications as needed per age group or emergent class interests and demonstrate that the target curriculum engagement/quality elements are being achieved
• Keep the classroom safe by following procedures and guidelines
• Collaborate and communicate respectfully with coworkers creating positive relationships and center culture
• Communicate effectively with families during drop off/pick ups and provide curriculum and development updates
• Experience & Education Requirements:

Experience, Knowledge & Abilities

• At least 18+ years of age with a High School Diploma and 12 Early Childhood Education units including 3 units specific to infant care (Required by Licensing)
• At least 12+ months of experience working in a licensed child care facility
• Must meet the requirements of the California Department of Social Services / Licensing

Physical Demands

• Move comfortably throughout the classroom and center, including lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, sitting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
• Safely interact with and physically support children ages 3 months to 6 years using appropriate child-handling techniques
• Lift children or classroom materials up to 50 pounds, as needed
• Maintain the mental and physical alertness needed to supervise children and respond to daily classroom needs
• Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations, safety concerns, or emergencies
• Follow all state, federal, and Brella guidelines related to immunizations, employment physicals, required health and safety training, and safe classroom practices
