Job summary

Brella is hiring a Lead Infant Teacher to work with 12-18 month olds and help build a new child care model focused on high-quality experiences. The role emphasizes adaptability, learning, and a caring approach in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• At least 12 ECE (Required).

This center is open Monday-Friday and shifts typically run between 7:45 AM - 6:15 PM.

About the Role

We are looking to hire a Lead Infant Teacher who works with 12-18 month old's who is excited about building a new model of child care that responds to families' varying child care needs, while also delivering the highest quality experiences for children. As a Brella Lead Infant Teacher, You Will

• Develop classroom procedures and manage the classroom's flow of the day guiding co-teachers to achieve classroom management and quality curriculum implementation assuming a fair share of classroom responsibilities
• Mentor, train and grow teachers, modeling Brella’s teacher best practices and supporting the teacher evaluation process
• Actively participate in workshops, training, special events and Lead Teacher meetings and relay administration updates and information constructively and effectively with the team
• Collaborate and communicate respectfully with coworkers creating positive relationships and center culture
• Manage classroom materials (ie - ordering, storing and labeling materials) to ensure maintenance of a well-organized, developmentally appropriate classroom
• Implement Brella curriculum and develop daily modifications as needed per age group or emergent class interests and demonstrate that the target curriculum engagement/quality elements are being achieved
• Act as point person for family communication providing curriculum and development updates
• Model and mentor providing a safe and loving environment for children in collaboration with a team

Experience, Knowledge & Abilities

• Meet all state teaching experience, education and additional state requirements if hired including at least 12 ECE (Required)
• 1 year of experience in a childcare setting in the U.S. serving in a Lead Teacher role or similar capacity (Required)
• 3+ years of early childhood education teaching experience (Preferred)
• Experience mentoring and coaching other teachers and AA/BA degree w/6 administration units (Preferred)
• Ability to be flexible and approach change with a positive mindset
• Understands effective communication styles to provide feedback to administration, co-teachers and parents
• Proactively seeks out resources to continually improve performance in self and others
• Experience mentoring and growing co-teachers with effective collaboration and problem solving skills
• Expertise in early learning/development and group care settings, including knowledge of current research, regulations, and best practices
• Ability to model a patient, caring and calm demeanor respectfully interacting with every child
• Experience in coaching other teachers in Reggio, RIE and Montessori methodologies

Physical Demands

• Move comfortably throughout the classroom and center, including lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, sitting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
• Safely interact with and physically support children ages 3 months to 6 years using appropriate child-handling techniques
• Lift children or classroom materials up to 50 pounds, as needed
• Maintain the mental and physical alertness needed to supervise children and respond to daily classroom needs
• Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations, safety concerns, or emergencies
• Follow all state, federal, and Brella guidelines related to immunizations, employment physicals, required health and safety training, and safe classroom practices

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $26.50 hourly with final compensation determined based on experience and qualifications.
