Job summary

Brella in Los Angeles is hiring a Preschool Teacher for 24-month-olds to help build a new child care model. You will create a safe, caring classroom and work closely with co‑teachers to meet high standards.

The role requires 12 ECE units (incl. infant care), a HS diploma, and at least 12 months’ licensed childcare experience. Licensing requirements must be met. Join Brella’s supportive environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 18+ years of age with a High School Diploma and 12 Early Childhood Education units including 3 units specific to infant care (Required by Licensing).
• At least 12+ months of experience working in a licensed child care facility.
• Must meet the requirements of the California Department of Social Services / Licensing.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and loving environment for children in collaboration with co-teachers.
• Model empathy through respect, response, and gentle guidance.
• Engage as children work with age-appropriate, stimulating, and thoughtful materials.
• Plan and implement Brella curriculum and develop daily modifications as needed per age group or emergent class interests and demonstrate that the target curriculum engagement/quality elements are being achieved.
• Keep the classroom safe by following procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate and communicate respectfully with coworkers creating positive relationships and center culture.
• Communicate effectively with families during drop off/pick ups and provide curriculum and development updates.

This center is open Monday-Friday and shifts typically run between 7:45 AM - 6:15 PM.

Physical Demands

• Move comfortably throughout the classroom and center, including lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, sitting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
• Safely interact with and physically support children ages 3 months to 6 years using appropriate child-handling techniques
• Lift children or classroom materials up to 50 pounds, as needed
• Maintain the mental and physical alertness needed to supervise children and respond to daily classroom needs
• Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations, safety concerns, or emergencies
• Follow all state, federal, and Brella guidelines related to immunizations, employment physicals, required health and safety training, and safe classroom practices
