Job summary

Cadence Education in Edgewater, NJ is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support daily classroom activities in a licensed childcare center. Under the direction of the School Director and Lead Teacher, you will help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children, including those with IEPs.

Qualifications

• Ability to consistently follow safety procedures and policies.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a classroom team.
• Clear reading, writing, and speaking in English for communication with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive and respectful classroom environment.
• Greet children and families daily and build welcoming relationships.
• Assist in addressing individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, including following IEPs and support plans.
• Support planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs.
• Communicate professionally with families and colleagues using Cadence-approved tools.
• Follow the Cadence Education Safety and Supervision Manual and document incidents.
• Assist with documenting and reporting escalated child behaviors as needed.
• Adhere to all Cadence Education policies and the Employee Handbook.
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development.
