Preschool Intervention Specialist (1 or more positions)

Requirements: PK Intervention Specialist License or Endorsement and Early Childhood License or Endorsement

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid State Board of Education license/certificate appropriate for the position
  • Meets all mandated health requirements
  • Practical understanding of early childhood education
  • Keeps current with technology and educational advancements that enhance productivity
Abilities:
  • Maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive work/learning environment
  • Effectively use active listening, observation, reading, verbal, nonverbal, and writing skills
  • Anticipate time constraints and manage tasks efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Skillfully manage individual, group, and organizational interactions
  • Use tact and exercise self-control when dealing with others
  • Meet physical demands of the preschool learning environment
Essential Functions:
  • Organize and develop appropriate subject content and learning goals
  • Assess the academic needs of students and vary instruction to address diverse learning styles and skills
  • Collaborate with staff to share knowledge and resources that enhance student learning
  • Facilitate parental involvement and consult with parents as needed (e.g., phone calls, notes, emails, meetings)
  • Prepare and implement individualized education plans (IEP)
  • Work with staff to ensure services are provided in the least restrictive educational environment
  • Collect student data to assist with the evaluation team report (ETR)
  • Coordinate and facilitate classroom paraprofessional duties
