Preschool Intervention Specialist (1 or more positions)
Requirements: PK Intervention Specialist License or Endorsement and Early Childhood License or Endorsement
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid State Board of Education license/certificate appropriate for the position
- Meets all mandated health requirements
- Practical understanding of early childhood education
- Keeps current with technology and educational advancements that enhance productivity
Abilities:
- Maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive work/learning environment
- Effectively use active listening, observation, reading, verbal, nonverbal, and writing skills
- Anticipate time constraints and manage tasks efficiently to meet deadlines
- Skillfully manage individual, group, and organizational interactions
- Use tact and exercise self-control when dealing with others
- Meet physical demands of the preschool learning environment
Essential Functions:
- Organize and develop appropriate subject content and learning goals
- Assess the academic needs of students and vary instruction to address diverse learning styles and skills
- Collaborate with staff to share knowledge and resources that enhance student learning
- Facilitate parental involvement and consult with parents as needed (e.g., phone calls, notes, emails, meetings)
- Prepare and implement individualized education plans (IEP)
- Work with staff to ensure services are provided in the least restrictive educational environment
- Collect student data to assist with the evaluation team report (ETR)
- Coordinate and facilitate classroom paraprofessional duties
