Job summary

Primrose School at Rancho Sienna in Texas is seeking a Teacher to plan and implement activities supporting social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child. The role follows the Primrose Balanced Learning approach and offers year-round programs from infant through elementary ages.

Qualifications

• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in handling children and classroom activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision and daily class functions for a group of children.
• Observe health, safety and regulatory rules at local, state, or national level.
• Assess each child's developmental needs continuously.
• Assist in implementing lesson plans and daily classroom schedule with Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
• Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom
• Provide verbal recognition and clear expectations for children's behavior.
• Assist in maintenance and housekeeping duties of classroom, common areas and playgrounds.
• Attend required staff meetings, workshops and school functions.
• Maintain professional appearance per the employee handbook.
• Support the Director or designee in other necessary tasks.
