Job description

Summary

Turn to Joy is seeking a preschool teacher-assistant for a small group of children at our center in Grand Isle.

We offer year-round childcare and preschool services from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Our goal is to develop supportive relationships that foster growth and learning.

Duties

• Preparing materials for learning activities
• Participating in documentation and observation of student learning
• Supporting routines for lunch, rest, and afternoon activities
• Addressing behavioral issues and promoting social-emotional learning
• Supporting play and social-emotional development
• Cleaning the classroom and preparing children's items to go home
• Communicating with families at the end of each day

Requirements

• A positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of working with children
• Completion of First Aid/CPR and all required trainings by Vermont's DCF
• Availability to commit to 15-25 hours per week

Nice To Haves

• Experience and training in behavioral support
• Self-motivated with an interest in early childhood career development
• Understanding of social-emotional development and early learning skills
• Strong communication skills, including asking for help and sharing ideas and concerns
