Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition, Inc. (OCDC) is seeking dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant roles in Oregon.

You will support classrooms under a lead teacher, helping with the implementation of individualized curricula and hands-on activities that promote social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development. These positions require a high school diploma or GED, and CDA or equivalent qualifications within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school level education or equivalent with Oregon Registry Step < 8.
• CDA certificate required within 6 months from hire.
• 1-year community college certificate with early childhood focus or equivalent training.
• Enrollment in an associate’s or bachelor’s program in ECE to be completed within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, positive, engaging learning environment.
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors with positive guidance.
• Assist with setup, organization, and inventory of materials.
• Support implementation of individualized curriculum and daily activities.
• Assist with observations, assessments, and portfolio documentation.
• Communicate with the teacher about children’s health, behavior, and development.
• Support family engagement activities including newsletters and conferences.

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria with an Oregon Registry Step less than 8

Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate within 6 months from date of hire

One year Oregon community college certificate in early childhood development with focus on preschool development

Enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s program in early childhood education or child development to be completed within 2 years from date of hire
