Job summary

Worcester Community Action Council, Inc. seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the Early Head Start and Head Start programs across centers in East Brookfield, Southbridge, and Webster. You will assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate activities to promote growth, self-esteem, and social skills among preschoolers.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in ECE, social work, or related field; intent to pursue Bachelor's in ECE.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to learn WCAC databases.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for handling sensitive information with tact and professionalism.
• Positive, friendly, and resourceful demeanor.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Spanish or other languages a plus.
• Department of Early Education and Care License.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher to plan and carry out classroom activities that support children's growth and development.
