Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking Preschool Teacher A or B to support learning and development for preschool children in Oregon. Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate curricula, using Head Start standards, and collaborating with families and staff.

  • Preschool Teacher B requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development; or Any field and coursework equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-age children
  • Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and child development best practices
  • Individualize instruction based on observations, assessments, and family goals
  • Conduct developmental screenings, assessments, and maintain child portfolios and documentation
  • Promote children’s cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development
  • Communicate regularly and respectfully with families about child progress and classroom activities
  • Support family engagement through conferences, home visits, and classroom involvement opportunities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to classroom staff and volunteers
  • Collaborate with education, health, mental health, and disabilities staff to support children’s needs
  • Maintain accurate records, program documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Promote healthy practices related to nutrition, safety, and overall wellness
  • Model positive guidance strategies and responsive teaching practices
  • Maintain confidentiality of child and family information
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program planning activities
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education

Associate’s degree in Early childhood education or child development; or Any field and coursework equivalent
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development; or Any field and coursework equivalent
