Job summary

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) Head Start and Children’s Services in Jamaica Plain is seeking a Teacher Assistant for a 52-week, permanent, full-time role. You will support the Teacher in caring for and educating a group of preschool children within a collaborative teaching team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Preschool CDA credential; ECE certificate or EEC Preschool Lead Teacher certified, or enrolled in a degree program with two-year CDA completion.
• Bilingual in a language spoken by ABCD families preferred.
• Experience with preschool children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher with planning and implementing education components.
• Participate in two home visits and three parent/teacher conferences per family per year.
• Maintain classroom records and participate in team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with EEC, IDEA, DESE and related policies.
