Qualifications

• Associate's degree or reasonable equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to preschool students, ensuring they can safely and effectively navigate all aspects of the school day.
• Facilitate peer interactions and help students develop foundational social skills, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy within the classroom setting within the framework of their IEP.
• Provide support for lessons and sensory-based activities under the guidance of the lead teacher and special education teacher to meet the student's unique learning style.
• Assist students in transitioning between daily routines—such as arrival, circle time, playground, and centers—to reduce anxiety and promote engagement.
• Implement scaffolding techniques that gradually encourage students to complete tasks with increasing autonomy and confidence.
• Maintain consistent communication with the educational team to track progress, document observations, and ensure the student’s specific needs are being met in an inclusive environment.
• Participate in professional development days.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Perform other duties related to his/her performance responsibilities, as assigned by the Special Education Director
