Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an enthusiastic paraprofessional to support early education in the district's full-day program for ages 3 to 7, working with classroom teachers to reinforce instruction and create a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will assist with self-help skills, supervise snack and outdoor/indoor activities, promote personal hygiene, and participate in ten hours of paid professional development beyond the workday, per district guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree or valid ParaPro/WorkKeys certification.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States must be valid by start date.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with classroom teacher to implement enrichment activities reinforcing daily instruction for ages 3–7.
• Implements activities using varied materials, following lesson plans.
• Assists children with self-help skills (zipping, buttons, tying shoes, utensils, hand washing, bathroom).
• Adheres to school-wide discipline and reporting procedures.
• Maintains a classroom climate conducive to learning and supports the academic program.
