Kamehameha Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to provide a supportive learning environment for preschool children. The role involves assisting with daily classroom activities and fostering a curriculum that highlights Protestant teachings and Hawaiian culture.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and experience in early childhood education. This position requires participation in workshops and may involve travel.
Assists in providing a developmentally appropriate learning environment for a class of approximately 20 children in conjunction with the Teacher for either the Extended Day or Regular Day Preschool Programs. Supports the planning and implementation of a language-based curriculum for preschool‑aged children that fosters Protestant religion and Hawaiian culture, maintains required certifications, and participates in curriculum development.
This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighboring islands. Work occurs in an office/school environment and may be in non‑standard workplaces. Schedule is typically Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with evening and weekend hours often required to meet goals and objectives.
