Job summary

Volunteers of America-Greater New York is seeking a Preschool Special Education Speech Therapist to join our Bronx-based team. The Speech & Language Pathologist will develop, implement, and evaluate therapy plans for students with speech and language needs at the district level. Location: Bronx, NY 10457.

Qualifications

• New York State Certificate as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or equivalent.
• Master's degree in speech-language pathology or NYS license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Ability to assess and develop IEP-based therapy plans.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech-language skills to determine therapy needs.
• Provide quality speech therapy as mandated by IEPs.
• Consult with team members at meetings.
• Provide parent training and ongoing communication with parents.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation.
• Provide in-service training and participate in staff development.
• Meet with supervisor on an ongoing basis.
