Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is hiring a Preschool Instructional Assistant at Crismon Elementary School in Mesa, AZ. This part-time role (29 hours per week) features a base hourly rate of $19.89 and falls under the B21 calendar (9.25 months).

You will assist certified teachers with monitoring and instruction for students with IEPs, support 1:1 and small group activities, prepare materials, and help collect data on progress. Training is provided for Medicaid billing and related tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
• 6 months experience with preschool children

Responsibilities

• Deliver, under teacher’s direction, classroom work/homework and/or reinforce classroom objectives, provide 1:1 and/or small group instruction tailored to student IEP goals
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintaining the classroom
• Proactively collect and monitor data related to academic and behavioral goals, using district-approved tools
• Assist in modifying curriculum to meet individual learning needs
• Implement positive behavior intervention plans for students with challenging behaviors
• Assist students with personal hygiene and daily living activities as needed
• Accompany students during transitions across campus and during arrival/dismissal
• Monitor groups to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
