Job summary

AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School in Washington, DC, seeks a Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to implement IEPs in inclusion, push-in, or pull-out settings. You will work with general education staff to integrate RTI interventions and ensure IDEA compliance.

You will assist with administrative tasks, maintain confidential student records, and collaborate with families to develop effective transition plans to a Kindergarten program for students with IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in elementary or early childhood special education; Praxis PK-3 passing score required.
• Master's degree in early childhood special education or certified speech-language pathologist preferred.
• Two+ years of professional teaching experience with young children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Support development and achievement of young and diverse learners.
• Implement developmentally-appropriate instructional activities for students with special needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement RTI and IEP goals.
• Manage IEP documentation and data using SEDS or approved systems.
• Provide case management and transition planning to Kindergarten programs for students with IEPs.
