Job summary

Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services in New York City is seeking a Full Time Special Education Teacher for the Preschool CPSE program. You will work with children and families across Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx in diverse settings, implementing IEP goals and coordinating with other professionals.

Responsibilities include direct CPSE services, progress reporting, case updates, and confidentiality, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and family involvement.

Qualifications

• CPSE experience preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, but not required.
• Must be self-motivated, a team player, and exercise patience/professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service to children approved through the CPSE program in accordance with the mandate and location identified in the IEP.
• Work in diverse settings such as client homes, family day cares, day care centers, preschools or other community settings.
• Follow IEPs, plan ongoing treatment, and interpret goals and treatment plan for parents and other professionals.
• Conduct collaborative activities with other professionals working on a case.
• Educate all individuals involved in a case on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Present updates on cases at Annual Review and/or program review meetings as needed.
• Utilize various systems to ensure documentation for a case is completed and meets regulatory expectations.
• Administrative responsibilities include review of evaluation packets, creation of required summary documents and attendance at initial eligibility meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (HIPAA and state & federal regulations).
