Job summary

Austintown Local Schools is seeking a Preschool Special Education Paraprofessional at Austintown Elementary School in Austintown, OH. This grant-funded, 9-month role works 28 hours weekly, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm, supporting students in a preschool setting.

The starting hourly rate is $15.73 with annual step increases per the OAPSE agreement; transfer bid requests are accepted until 2:00 pm on 8/29/2026.

Qualifications

Requires BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks.

Responsibilities

Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups in various school settings.
Assist in a self-contained special education classroom.
Uphold confidentiality at all times.
Enforce pupil behavior per building principal directives.
Maintain a safe, secure environment for students at all times.
Employ strategies to manage student behavior and conflict.
Assist with classroom management and small group instruction.
Attend CPI training and refresher courses as assigned.
Perform clerical duties and operate office equipment as needed.
