Qualifications

• Previous job experience working with large and small groups of children.
• Ability to communicate and work well with children.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• CPR/First Aid trained.
• Obtain a fingerprint clearance card (district will assist).
• Must have TB test before start date.
• Ability to pass paraprofessional assessment/test unless hold at least an AA degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Preschool Teacher during classroom hours.
• Help prepare snacks and monitor clean up.
• Assist in managing classroom behavior and enforcing rules.
• Support Lead/Teacher and children during small and large centers.
• Make sure student/teacher ratios are in place at all times.
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom.
• Assist with set up and clean up of classroom each day.
• Record anecdotal notes daily for children’s portfolios.
• Help Lead Teacher monitor students and recognize potential classroom problems.
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher.
