Job summary

Tooele County School District is seeking a Preschool Paraeducator at Copper Canyon Elementary School (High-Needs School) to support three- to five-year-old students. Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students and staff.
Ability to establish supportive relationships with students with special needs.
Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff and others.
Ability to report work orally or in writing to the supervisor as required.
Effective writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assists participants with personal care needs (e.g., diapering, toilet training, feeding).
Assists in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate activities for groups or individuals.
Communicates with school staff to convey and receive information needed to perform job functions.
Distributes instructional and play materials and maintains classroom records and equipment.
Monitors students in various settings to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
Organizes quiet or active activities and prepares nutritional snacks to align with guidelines.
Transfers children safely to/from parents or designee to meet district requirements.
