Job summary

The City of Lenexa's Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Recreation Program Instructor to support Preschool Pals, a fun and engaging early childhood program at the Lenexa Rec Center. This role helps create a positive first learning experience for children ages 3.5-5 by leading activities, preparing lessons, and fostering a welcoming environment.

This position is part-time, up to 12 hours per week, primarily on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, with a starting pay of $16.50 per hour and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in instruction, childcare, or customer service.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare engaging curriculum and lesson plans for Preschool Pals programming.
• Lead and supervise program participants in classroom activities.
• Assist with promoting classes, including content for Town Talk and other marketing materials.
• Create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Maintain program materials and assist with classroom setup and cleanup.
