This role helps create a positive first learning experience for children ages 3.5–5 by leading activities, preparing lessons, and fostering a welcoming environment.
This position works up to 12 hours per week, primarily on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. This is a year-round, part-time position.
The Recreation Program Instructor leads preschool-aged participants through a variety of enriching activities, including arts and crafts, science projects, activity centers, and other hands‑on learning experiences. The instructor develops and delivers curriculum that supports creativity, exploration, and social development, serving as a positive representative of the City of Lenexa.
Starting rate of pay is $16.50 per hour with annual raises.
Work may take place both indoors and outdoors. The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move materials related to recreation programs and classroom activities.
