Job summary

Greater Somerset County YMCA is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Preschool classroom to execute a structured, engaging school-day curriculum and daily routines. The goal is elementary school readiness for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, with a focus on nurturing development and safety.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Child Care, maintain clear communication with parents, and manage classroom activities to ensure a positive, educational experience for every child.

Qualifications

• CDA Credential, Bachelor's degree or teaching certificate required.
• Experience with infants, toddlers, or pre-school children preferred.
• Strong communication with parents; classroom management; ability to plan and run curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Lead teacher executes a structured preschool curriculum and daily routines.
• Prepare students for Kindergarten with readiness skills.
• Maintain health and safety standards per NJ DCF.
