Job summary

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School in Seattle seeks a faith-filled Preschool Lead Teacher for its Early Learning Center (ages 3 and 4). The role integrates Gospel values, supports kindergarten readiness, and maintains MERIT and WAC standards in a nurturing setting.

The candidate should hold an Initial Certificate or higher, with a WA ECE Short Certificate due within 12 months and a CDA credential. A degree in ECE or related field is preferred; experience with young children is expected.

Qualifications

• Initial Certificate or higher required; ongoing MERIT tracking and WAC compliance.
• WA ECE Short Certificate required within a year of hire.
• Active CDA credential.
• Associate/Bachelor/Master’s degree in ECE/Child Development or related field.
• Experience with 3–4 year-olds expected; Catholic-school experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Infuse Catholic faith, Gospel values, and SEL into classroom routines.
• Plan and execute culturally responsive lessons for 3–4 year-olds focusing on kindergarten readiness.
• Maintain positive behavioral support systems for preschoolers.
• Communicate professionally with parents, supervisors, and colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with WAC center standards and MERIT maintenance.
• Complete EQEL training within 36 months of hire.
• Participate in schoolwide faculty activities and professional development.
