Job summary

The Learning Experience - Bushwick is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher for our Preschool 2 classroom serving ages 4-5. You will lead daily activities, implement the LEAP curriculum, and partner with families to support readiness for kindergarten.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or an approved study plan toward completing a bachelor's in ECE.
• Must meet NYC Article 47 qualifications for the assigned teaching position
• Experience in preschool or early childhood education is preferred
• Experience teaching children ages 4-5 strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead daily learning activities and routines for preschoolers ages 4-5
• Implement LEAP Curriculum through engaging, age-appropriate lessons
• Support kindergarten readiness through early literacy, math, science, and language development
• Create hands-on learning experiences through art, music, movement, and purposeful play
• Encourage independence, problem-solving, social-emotional development, and positive friendships
• Maintain consistent classroom routines and use positive behavior guidance
• Observe children's progress and maintain required documentation
• Mentor and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
• Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment
• Follow NYC Article 47 childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

Location: The Learning Experience - Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or an approved study plan toward completing a bachelor's degree in ECE, consistent with applicable NYC requirements
• Must meet NYC Article 47 qualifications for the assigned teaching position
• Previous professional preschool or early childhood education experience preferred
• Experience teaching children ages 4-5 strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of preschool development, kindergarten readiness, and classroom management
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Dependable, creative, nurturing, and passionate about early childhood education
