Job summary

The Learning Experience in Manhattan (Upper West Side and Columbus Circle) is hiring a Lead Early Childhood Teacher for a 2-year-old classroom. You will guide language development, support independence, and foster social skills in a nurturing setting.

We seek an educator who can create engaging, meaningful experiences, manage a busy classroom, and partner with families. Location is on-site; full-time, Monday–Friday schedule; competitive pay with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional childcare, daycare, or preschool settings.
• Experience teaching children ages 2–3 is strongly preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Must meet NYC Article 47 Group Teacher qualifications for the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom activities and routines for children ages 2–2.5.
• Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Create engaging sensory, art, music, movement, language, and hands-on learning experiences.
• Encourage independence, communication, and positive social interactions.
• Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and transitions.
• Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate management.
• Observe and document children's developmental progress.
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers.
• Build strong relationships and communicate with families.
• Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming classroom and follow NYC health and safety requirements.

Pay: $21-$24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience is seeking an experienced Lead Early Childhood Teacher to guide children ages 2-2.5 through an exciting stage of language development, growing independence, and early social interactions.

We're looking for an educator who understands how to create a nurturing, engaging classroom where young children can explore, build confidence, and develop important skills through meaningful learning experiences.

We are actively interviewing qualified candidates for our Manhattan locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom activities and routines for children ages 2-2.5

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related qualifying field, OR enrollment in an approved study plan toward an associate degree, as permitted by applicable NYC regulations
• Previous professional childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood classroom experience required
• Experience teaching children ages 2-3 strongly preferred
• Previous Lead Teacher experience preferred
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Must meet applicable NYC Article 47 Group Teacher qualifications for the assigned classroom
