Wilmette Park District is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher to develop and deliver age-appropriate curriculum for children aged 2-5, supervise daily activities, and maintain open communication with families. The role involves collaborating with Assistant Teachers, planning lessons, and ensuring safety and engagement.

The afternoon shift (11:00 am–6:00 pm) provides opportunities to support developmental milestones, nurture positive self-esteem, and work within a supportive park district team.

Formación

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• DCFS Qualifications for Early Childhood Teachers and School-age Workers Illinois Admin Code tit. 89, § 407.140.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, present, and evaluate play-based curriculum lesson plans.
• Supervise classroom activities and daily routines.
• Maintain regular communication with parents via email and the park district app.
• Direct and assist co-teachers in daily preparation and cleanup of rooms.
• Attend and contribute to monthly lesson plan meetings.
• Submit supply requests to Preschool Supervisor.
• Uphold professionalism and positive relationships with parents and staff.
• Contribute to the Park District’s sustainability goals and strategic plan.

60 semester hours in child development-related courses (or 90 quarter hours)

1 year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience plus 30 semester hours/45 quarter hours in related courses
