Job summary

The Learning Experience Corp. – Clinton Hill is seeking Lead Teachers for our twos program in a play-based early childhood setting in Brooklyn.

This full-time role involves co-teaching and developing lesson plans with emphasis on social and emotional learning and enrichment activities. Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and 1–3 years of experience with children under six, plus familiarity with NYC DOHMH Article 47 regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and two years of supervised preschool experience.
• 1-3 years experience as a teacher for children under six.
• Familiarity with NYC DOHMH Article 47 regulation.

Responsibilities

• Encourage positive participation of students using enrichment and play-based activities.
• Co-teach with staff to develop and execute lesson plans focusing on social and emotional learning and curriculum themes.
• Perform duties related to childcare including potty training, diapering, feeding, cleaning and nurturing.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management to meet program needs.

Job Description: The Learning Experience – Clinton Hill (TLE – Clinton Hill) is seeking candidates for Lead Teachers for our twos program. Our play-based early childhood development center in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn serving children from six weeks to five years of age.

Full-Time (35-40 hours a week) Staff Benefits:

• 5 vacation days, and 5 sick days by accrual after 90-day introductory period.

Principal Areas of Responsibility:

• Encourage positive participation of students using enrichment and play-based activities to develop all aspects of their mental, physical, and social beings.
• Co-teach alongside staff members to develop and execute creatively on lesson plans focusing on social and emotional learning, along with enrichment, curriculum themes, indoor and outdoor play, combining the arts and hands-on experiences with supportive guidance
• Perform all duties related to childcare including potty training, diapering, feeding, cleaning, and nurturing.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management as per program needs.

Required Credentials:

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study ( Elementary Education, Nursery to 6th Grade Elementary Education, Special Education, Students With Disabilities, Birth to 2nd Grade Students With Disabilities, 1st to 6th Grade, Child Psychology*, Child Development* General Education*) and two years of supervised and documented relevant experience in a preschool program
• 1-3 years experience as a teacher for children under six years old.
• Familiarity with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Article 47 regulation
