Job summary

ALBANY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE in Laramie, WY seeks a Resource/Preschool Paraprofessional to support intervention and preschool programs, assist teachers, and model skills for students' assignments.

The role involves administering activities, attending meetings, monitoring students, providing instructional support, and maintaining materials while upholding district policies and confidentiality. A high school diploma is required; prior school experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administers a variety of assigned activities for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom.
• Attends meetings for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Communicates with supervising staff for the purpose of evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
• Evaluates students during the course of the school day for the purpose of taking action and/or providing referral for resolution.
• Maintains materials for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing written reference, and meeting mandated requirements.
• Monitors students in a variety of settings for the purpose of ensuring safety.
• Promotes good study habits for the purpose of improving student outcomes.
• Manages activities for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Monitors students during assigned periods for safety and positive environment.
• Provides instruction to students for reinforcing instructional objectives and implementing IEP plans.
• Provides adapted classroom activities under the direction of the supervising teacher.
• Provides feedback of observations for informing teachers and administrators of student progress.
• Responds to inquiries from various sources for solving problems and directing to sources.
• Responds to emergencies for resolving safety concerns and directing to appropriate personnel.
• Tutors students on class work for ongoing support.
• Follows school and district policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates professional responsibility and confidentiality; meets deadlines; presents a good role model.
