Job summary

Animas Valley Elementary School in Durango, Colorado is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator for Preschool. This .9375 FTE, Monday–Friday role supports teachers, supervises students, and contributes to a positive classroom environment.

Position begins immediately with benefits and a $1,800 one-time bonus for 26/27 SY. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; paraprofessional test or 2 years of college; CPR/First Aid may be required within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Basic Skills Competence (Minimum 2 years of college, e.g. associates degree, or 48 semester hrs of college coursework) OR Pass paraprofessional test.
• Experience in a school setting and/or educational training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with instructing students and reinforcing materials.
• Supervise and monitor student behavior during daily activities (cafeteria, playground, hallway, buses).
• Assist with office duties including phones, databases, and records.
• Attend meetings and trainings; engage in ongoing professional development.
