Job summary

Central Kentucky Head Start in Bardstown, KY is seeking a Center Instructional Assistant to support preschool learning under the Head Start Teacher. You will help implement instructional experiences that promote social, emotional, physical and educational development.

Responsibilities include assisting with planning activities, maintaining a safe environment, helping assess children, and completing required training.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a team environment.
• Experience working with children.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Works well with individuals of all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Background check/pre-employment screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Implements instructional experiences under the direction of the Head Start Teacher.
• Assists in planning classroom activities by incorporating each child's interests.
• Maintains a safe and healthy environment and teacher-child ratios in compliance with Head Start standards.
• Assists in the assessment of children.
• Maintains timely and accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
• Promotes staff relationships and a climate conducive to learning.
• Other duties as assigned.
