Job summary

Central Kentucky Head Start is seeking a substitute Instructional Assistant for Bardstown, KY on an as-needed basis. The role supports the Head Start Teacher in delivering preschool activities, ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment, and assisting with assessments and documentation.

This is a part-time, on-site position with an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday, as needed. Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED and experience working with children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children and in a team environment is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Start Teacher with instructional activities for preschool children.
• Promote a safe, healthy classroom environment and maintain teacher–child ratios.
• Assist in planning activities that reflect each child’s interests.
• Complete required annual training and professional development hours.
• Assist in assessments and maintain documentation and records.
