Job summary

The position requires at least 60 college credits or an Associate's Degree, and passing the Kentucky Paraprofessional Test. Responsibilities include tutoring, assisting instruction, preparing materials, and ensuring student health and safety.

Qualifications

• 60 hours of college credit is required.
• An Associate's Degree is required.
• A passing score on the Kentucky Paraprofessional Test is required.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or small groups of students.
• Reinforce and implement instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Maintain student progress records.
• Participate on instructional teams as needed.
• Assist with lesson planning.
• Administer and score diagnostic tests; record results.
• Assist with IEP implementation and monitoring.
• Perform routine clerical duties and prepare instructional materials.
• Set up work areas and assist with displays and supplies.
• Supervise students at all times.
• Assist with student transitions and restroom needs.
• Serve as bus monitor when necessary.
• Assist students entering/exiting the bus.
• Provide examples, support, and guidance to students.
• Confers with teachers on programs and materials.
• Make home visits with the teacher as necessary.
• Ensure health and safety of students per policies.
• Direct group activities and monitor cafeteria/playground; assist drills/trips.
• Attend meetings and professional development.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
