Job summary

Central Kentucky Head Start is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support preschool children under the direction of the Head Start Teacher. You will help implement instructional experiences that promote social, emotional, physical, and educational development, while maintaining safety and classroom routines.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, CDA credential (or enrollment with a 2-year completion timeline), teamwork experience, and the ability to work with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CDA credential or enrollment with anticipated completion within 2 years of hire.
• Background check/pre-employment screenings required.
• Ability to work with individuals of diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist to implement instructional experiences under the direction of the Head Start Teacher.
• Support development in social, emotional, physical, and educational domains for preschool children.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment and appropriate teacher-child ratios.
• Assist in the assessment of children and in timely documentation and recordkeeping.
• Promote collaboration and positive relationships among staff to support a learning-focused climate.
